Another forced rest day as the temperature is a fridgid 11° and 45k/h winds. The ride from Taranto was challenging due to some route finding, and the fact that the hiway was a race course! Too busy with trucks, buses, and passing cars so we opted for the countryside for the last 8 k‘s.
The town is wonderfully quaint, with many beautiful churches and old architecture. It predates the building of Rome by 1200 years.
Sunday today and EVERYTHING is shut tight. No stores for bread, no veggies for lunch, no trains for a visit to a nearby town, nothing.
We scored a nice B&B with a rooftop terrace, but horredous stairs that we have to carry our bikes up!
Wi~fi is harder to come by, so email and blog updates will be fewer.
Enjoy the pics.
