A BIRDING DAY~MANFREDONIA

Trani to Manfredonia via the coast, very boring ride except that the road divides the sea from salt flats which have been mined for centuries. Lots of birdlife, so we stopped along the way and glassed for Flamingoes, Black Necked Stilts, Avocets and a dizzying aray of sandpipers.
It‘s great to watch the flamingoes as they fly from marsh to marsh on long elegant wings.
Manfredonia was a difficult town for us as we met some rude locals who had no interest in helping us find a B&B. Then we stopped at a bike store and the owner rode with us to an overpriced B&B. We discovered there are no trains on Sunday, forcing us to change plans and ride to Lesina, so we set out to stock up on food  and do our best for the weekend.
Sandra had some fun with the Hello Kitty sign. We had a good laugh 'cause we saw some shirts in Crete that had a cute picture on it and the ‘HELLO KITTY‘ was mispelled (on purpose) to read ‘HELLO TITTY‘
Guess you had to be there.
